When I closed my eyes and pictured a celebration scene, there was no doubt that it was full of bright colors and whimsy and nostalgia. There would be my traditional retro themed tree with tinsel and colored lights and swags of vintage cat cutouts and popcorn strands and garlands with sparkles and bells and of course, gingerbread houses.

Christmas Eve Fettuccine. Not always on Christmas Eve but always enjoyed by the xmas tree with a nice glass of wine while watching a holiday classic. This tradition (inspired by The Holiday) began in 2020 when, thanks to covid, I spent my first Christmas alone in Los Angeles and wanted to do something special (yet simple) and festive for myself.

May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve.
