I have been living my best ‘mob wife’ life since I declared at the tender age of 12 that I wanted to marry into the mafia. So obviously I hosted a classic Italian dinner worthy of any made (wo)man.

March Moments
Your guide to a quick stint in London, inspiration for a perfectly Italian evening and mini introduction to my apartment that I lovingly call ‘La Boîte à Bijoux’.
I thought that maybe lasagna was an Americanized version of Italian food. However I was thrilled to discover that although it originated in Ancient Greece, Lasagne is 100% Italian (unlike me).
Love at first sight isn’t always about a person… your soulmate… the love of your life. Sometimes it is a large painting of a lady napping in the nude.
London has my heart. With bougie restaurants, a vibrant & artsy night life, maximalism decor and endless antique & vintage treasures, what’s not to love?

The surprise bella of the evening
Broccoli florets
Thinly sliced Meyer lemon
Thinly sliced fennel
Thinly sliced kabocha squash
Green beans
1 1/4 cup white wine
1 1/4 cup sparkling water
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
One pinch kosher salt
Canola oil for frying
In a large cast iron pot, heat about 3 inches of canola oil to 350ºF. Dip the ingredients into the batter, coating each side fully and gently lay into the hot oil. Allow to fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and puffed up. Remove from oil and place on a plate or baking sheet covered with paper towels and sprinkle with finishing salt. Once all items are fried, place in a serving dish and serve warm with fresh lemon wedges and an espellete pepper aioli. Xx
A sweet way to celebrate without the stress of conventional entertaining.
