September 2026 Vol. Nº34

There is a shift in the air. It’s subtle, but it is there. Summer is coming to a close. It is a bitter sweet time. A time of transition, compromise and the art of layers. We argue with ourselves about whether we need a sweater or not as we hold on tight to the final dinners in the garden. There is an undeniable longing for the lingering days that melt into glowing golden hours and yet our body is craving respite. Summer was a fantastic adventure full of whimsy, laughter and so much vibrance… A daydream brought to life in the most fantastic way, and yet it is quietly fading away as the shadows seem to shift each and every day, a transition that seems to feel more tangible than the rest. Summer evenings spent languishing in the garden are being replaced by cozy nights on the sofa with days that seem to slip away more quickly than they did just a few weeks ago. We must bid adieu to our heat drenched moments and begin to embrace the coming season, turning our attention to a form of autumnal hibernation and seasonal nourishment. But before we do, we must say a proper farewell, a final flush of moments in the glow of late summer.

Until next year, dear summer, I will be dreaming of you. Our attention now must shift to the early hints of autumn. Xx

To say it was a beautiful day would not begin to explain it. It was that day when the end of summer intersects perfectly with the start of fall.

An Italian Inspired Dinner - The Perfect Summer Send Off

There are certain chapters that feel a bit harder to close than others. The final days of summer seem to fit perfectly into this category. A page that is a bit harder to turn, a period that we try to hold onto for just a little longer, clinging to moments that are already fading around the edges and shifting in real time. This is the anguish of watching a vibrant summer drift out of sight while still hoping to bask in its splendor. A season that, as it comes to an end, feels more palpable when compared to other seasonal shifts. Maybe it is because we know that the chill will soon seep into our evenings, that the lingering dinner parties bathed in golden hour light will soon exist only in memories and photographs and that the shroud of nightfall will begin to come all too early as the season of hibernation sets in.

Afternoon Affogatos and Romancing Routines

Life feels better when there is a bit of whimsy mixed in. While it is painfully easy to forgo a bit of romance and magic, categorizing the effort as trivial and indulgent, I find that sprinkling a bit of charm over my day-to-day life is the only remedy for mundane living. For when we can have a splash of color and a flair of glamour, why would we ever want to exist within a world of beige? My answer to this question has undoubtedly shaped how I have approached my life for half a decade now… striving to find the mystique and leaning into the exceptional. Transforming routine and little moments into momentary holidays and personal escapes. This is how I have built a life that, for me, feels beautiful and wonderful and oh so romantic.
